Memory rarely appears as narrative but as fragments — unstable apparitions drifting between presence and disappearance. In The Cycle of Remembrance, Ovidiu Kloska treats memory as a living field where matter, sensation, and time continually renegotiate form.
The compositions emerge from a central disturbance where gestures gather and dissolve. Pigment spreads like smoke, settles like sediment, or bursts outward, evoking states rather than objects. These forms recall organisms, relics, or embryonic structures suspended between gravity and expansion.
In Between Gravity and the Desire to Fly, a vertical axis anchors the image while lateral extensions suggest the fragile emergence — or memory — of wings. The figure remains unresolved, neither ascending nor falling.
Across the series, painting mirrors the act of remembering: layers are concealed, erased, and revived. Textures and dispersed pigments become micro-archives within the surface, hinting at forgotten languages or biological traces.
The works inhabit a threshold between weight and ascent, disappearance and emergence — between gravity and the desire to fly.
