Series ” Pyramids of memory ”

I have strong connection with things altered by the passing of time. Realities that breathe transience and have the a lot of wear signs on it. I had in the last years a very unique project
when i studied master art classes at Iasi University of Arts ” George Enescu”, called ” Wear of the city – object of art” .
In that project I photographed a lot of lost and ignored parts of the city wear as found realities,  searching forms that look like human porters. There i exercise my taste for serenity aesthetics and urban wear art. Since then all my art series contains
effects and structures that i encountered in my urban exploration. The “‘Pyramids of memory” is very rich in that time passing effects.
For the moment i have in this series only 3 compositions and in all are present o deformed triangle of a front view of the pyramid. I was not interested creating a three dimension painting of a stylize pyramid witch is very common in contemporary painting, …my intention was to put the viewer in front of an image like a memory of a pyramid, making him feel like in a front of a strange construction that look like a pyramid. I destroyed the conventional form by adding different light and shadow effects, but the most beautiful aspect of the composition is the subtle shapes of gray trees. I think this association is full of spirituality. Linking a shady shape of an ancient pyramid to a forest full like of secrets, the perenniality effects of passing time , the black subtle flowing up dark drops, the points of light, the deformed windows, all together gives me a strong feeling of a lost strange memory that traveled in minds to centuries from an subconsciousness to another. Is like we recover a memory from an unknown civilization of an ancient spirituality having the pyramid a common link. My intention was to create a ghostly image of a possible pyramid as a sacred place.
The chromatic is soft and close to bi-color technique, compositions are unexpected and enigmatic, full of story secretly revealed by spontaneous small signs like a lost writing. / Ovidiu Kloska
