How the City Melts in Autumn belongs to Beyond the Inside, a series devoted to the gradual emergence of perception through painting. The city evoked by the title is neither geographical nor architectural. It exists as an interior landscape where fragments of experience slowly dissolve into atmosphere, allowing perception to replace description. Rather than depicting an urban environment, the work investigates how places continue to exist within consciousness long after their physical forms have changed.

Soft mineral greys, weathered ochres, muted greens and luminous passages of white unfold through successive translucent layers. Dense textures alternate with delicate veils of colour, creating an atmosphere in which structures appear only to dissolve again. The composition remains intentionally unstable, suggesting that every visible form is only a temporary state within a longer process of transformation.

Within Ovidiu Kloșka’s artistic practice, beauty is discovered through improbable configurations that gradually achieve an unexpected internal coherence. Rhythm, colour, transparency, gesture, light and material interact intuitively until hidden relationships reveal themselves naturally. The artist does not reconstruct the city from memory; instead, he creates the conditions in which its emotional presence can emerge through the painting itself.
