Antigravitational Garden with Nirvana Skins belongs to the territory of Mindscape, where painting does not represent a recognizable world, but provokes the emergence of a reality that did not exist before the encounter between matter, gesture, colour and perception.
The painting constructs the conditions of a possible world suspended between recognition and disappearance. Forms seem to float, intersect, detach and reassemble according to an unfamiliar order. What initially appears vegetal may become mineral; what seems to be matter may become a trace; what appears to be space may acquire the density of a body. Identities shift before the eye has time to fix them.
At the heart of the work is The Aesthetics of Improbable Configurations — Ovidiu Kloșka’s continuing search for unexpected relationships between colour, gesture, transparency, density, light and tension. From countless possible configurations, the painting seeks that rare moment in which relationships become so coherent that beauty no longer appears added, but becomes inevitable.
Yet the creative process does not end with the painting.
In Kloșka’s practice, the completion of the image opens another search: finding a title capable of entering into a metaphysical tension with the image. The title is not intended to explain the painting, but to introduce another possibility of existence. Once the words appear, the painting changes: the viewer returns to the image carrying a new reality within the act of looking.
The “Nirvana Skins” are imagined as traces of forms that have already passed beyond their previous identities — membranes left behind by a transformation that remains invisible yet somehow perceptible. Nirvana does not appear here as immaterial perfection, but as a state in which matter loses its obligation to remain what it once was. Liberation acquires a surface. Transcendence leaves a residue.
At this point, painting and title become a single improbable configuration: a garden in which gravity has been forgotten and where even Nirvana leaves its skins behind.
Perhaps this is the essential function of Mindscape: not to invent impossible worlds, but to discover those rare relationships in which the impossible begins to feel inevitable.
