And the Spirit Shall Live On (130 × 130 cm), from the series The Wonderful Morning Dreams of Alice, unfolds as a visceral field where inner states rupture into painterly matter. Rather than offering a fixed point of entry, the composition immerses the viewer in a dynamic convergence of gesture, erosion, and emergence. Layers of pigment collide and dissolve, suggesting both construction and collapse, as if the work were a site of experience in constant transformation.

The surface is driven by sweeping movements interrupted by granular textures and abrasions that read like traces of memory and resistance. Dark tonal fields anchor the composition, while flashes of ochre, blue, and fractured white puncture the density, evoking moments of illumination within an unstable emotional landscape. Depth emerges not as spatial illusion but as an inward pull shaped by the tension between opacity and translucency.

Forms hover at the edge of recognition, suggesting presence without resolving into figuration. This ambiguity positions the work as a meditation on persistence through change. The spirit is neither fixed nor erased; it disperses and re-forms through material and gesture. The painting invites sustained engagement, offering not resolution but a charged space where memory, vulnerability, and resilience remain in continuous flux.
